The XXVII Olympic Winter Games

Salt Lake City will host the Olympic Winter Games in 2034 for the second time. The 2002 Games set a lasting benchmark with iconic, unforgettable branding. For 2034, NBC’s Olympic visual identity builds on that legacy while introducing a new chapter shaped for today’s audiences and the next generation of Olympic storytelling.

*My take on an actual Olympic game when only the location was announced, before
any branding was revealed!

The Concept

Built for Greatness

The branding draws inspiration by the geometry surrounding Salt Lake City. From the city grid to the salt crust patterns of the Bonneville Salt Flats, hexagon are present . The hexagon brings a feeling of strength and unity, much like the athletes and nation gathering to compete in the Olympics.

Logo Lockups

The logo references hexagons and the grid-like nature around Salt Lake City through angles and compactness of the letters.

The letter "a" is a subtle reference to the Salt Lake Temple, a widely recognizable landmark of the city.
